Corn Pellet Stoves- An Environmentally Friendly Heating Choice

Corn pellet stoves are a popular choice among homeowners as an alternative heating system. Corn pellet stoves help to reduce our dependency on foreign oil. Corn is also a clean burning fuel source which helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions which contribute to global warming. Corn is a natural and renewable energy source.

Corn pellet stoves are very similar to wood pellet stoves except they are specifically designed to burn corn which is a renewable energy source. Their small compact design and the fact that they only require a 4 inch vent for smoke to exit your house makes it possible for them to be installed in almost any room in your home. The fact that they can easily be hooked into existing heating ducts means that a single stove may be all you need to efficiently heat your entire house.

Corn pellet stoves burn more efficiently than wood pellet stoves, but they require more maintenance. The higher moisture content of corn means that they leave more residue both in the stove and the vent. This residue needs to be removed frequently so that the stove functions properly.

Pellet stoves come in many sizes and styles, so you are sure to be able to find one that matches your decor. Some of the more popular styles feature glass enclosures that allow you to watch the flames and gives you the ambiance of a traditional wood burning fireplace.

Corn pellet stoves may be the perfect solution to the high cost of heating your home with fossil fuels which are not renewable. They not only allow you to heat your home efficiently and cheaply, but they also ensure that our nation’s farmers have a continuous market for their grain.
